Plains Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees
Because we are owned by the communities we serve, we are governed and guided by community leaders who volunteer to serve on our board of trustees. These fellow New Mexicans willingly donate their time, energy and expertise to improving the health of patients, members and the communities we serve.
Lonnie Leslie Lonnie Leslie serves as Chair of the PRMC Community Board of Trustees and previously served as Chair of the Quality Committee. He is a retired school district administrator who spent thirty-three years with Clovis Municipal Schools. He received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Eastern New Mexico University. Mr. Leslie is Chairman of the Local Growth Management Organization planning for growth at Cannon Air Force Base and is also the Chairman of the Curry County DWI Task Force and a member of the Clovis Schools Foundation Board of Directors. He is the past president of the Clovis Rotary Club and was named by the Clovis Chamber of Commerce as the Citizen of the Year for 2008. He has also been honored with awards for New Mexico Administrator of the Year, Clovis Rotary Club Rotarian of the Year, the United Way Golden Heart Award, and the Eastern New Mexico University Educator Hall of Honor. |
George Chappell George Chappell was appointed to the PRMC Board in 2009. He is the Director of Operations for Southwest Cheese Company. During his tenure there, he commissioned a Greenfield site. A further expansion to the site was recently completed in 2010. The expansion makes the site the largest natural cheese manufacturing facility in the United Sates. Prior to Southwest Cheese, Mr. Chappell's experience includes being a small business owner and work with Glanbia Foods in various roles. He is qualified in the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point system, Food Quality/Safety Systems and Lean Manufacturing. |
Derek W. Cockrell Derek Cockrell is the President and Owner of Contemporary Benefits, LLC, an employee benefits and financial planning design and administration firm, in Clovis and has worked in the financial planning and employee benefit industries since 1996. He has served on the PRMC Governance and Finance Committees. |
Colonel Scott Corcoran Colonel Scott Corcoran took command of the 27th Special Operations Medical Group, Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico in July 2009. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from South Dakota State University in 1982 and entered the Air Force in 1988 as a Biomedical Sciences Corps officer. |
Priscilla Hernandez Priscilla Hernandez works as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment for Portales Municipal Schools. She is a 34-year veteran of public education and has worked in area school districts including Clovis, Portales and Muleshoe, Texas. |
Albert Kwan, MD, F.A.C.S. Albert M. Kwan, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the president of the medical staff at Plains Regional Medical Center. Dr. Kwan has been practicing in Clovis since 1993. He has served as a member of the Medical Executive Committee for the past 14 years, including serving as Chair of Surgery and Vice President of the Committee. |
Jacob Moberly, DDS, MAGD Dr. Jacob Moberly has been a member of the PRMC medical staff for over 50 years and has served on the PRMC Board since 2000. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern New Mexico University, his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri, and his Masters of Dentistry degree from the Academy of General Dentistry. |
Tom Phelps Tom Phelps is Chief Executive Officer of ENMR-Plateau Telecommunications headquartered in Clovis, New Mexico. He has served on the PRMC Board since 2007 and currently serves as Chair of the Finance Committee. Mr. Phelps has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting from California State University at Fresno and a Master's of Business Administration degree from Eastern New Mexico University. He is also the 2010 President of the Clovis -- Curry County Chamber of Commerce. |
Bobby Sandoval Bobby Sandoval is a lifelong resident of Clovis. He graduated from Clovis High School and attended the Clovis Campus of Eastern New Mexico University. He was employed by the United States Postal Service and retired after thirty eight years of service. He served in the New Mexico Army National Guard and is a past Post Commander of American Legion Post 25. At present, he serves as Clovis City Commissioner and is Chairman of the Board of the Curry County Commission. |
Hoyt Skabelund Hoyt Skabelund joined Presbyterian in 1996 as an Administrative Fellow. He presently serves as the Administrator of Plains Regional Medical Center. Other roles he has held with Presbyterian have included Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital Administrator, Administrative Director of Health Information Management, Presbyterian and Kaseman Hospitals, and Administrative Director, Hospital Admitting/Health Information Management. |
Len Vohs City Commissioner Len Vohs was born in Clovis, has been actively engaged in local government, and is a strong supporter of the State of New Mexico. His family owned and operated businesses in the downtown area between 1907 and 1991. He is the current Sales Manager for Rooney & Moon Broadcasting in Clovis and serves as Chairman of the City of Clovis' Public Works Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Wellness Center Task Force, Chamber of Commerce, and Clovis Main Street Boards. |
