What Is PresGiving?

PresGiving is a collaborative fundraising initiative directed by the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation. This enterprise-wide fundraising campaign gives Presbyterian employees the opportunity to support their favorite organizations including Presbyterian Healthcare Services, by giving through the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation or United Way. PresGiving was created to support Presbyterian's patient care programs, to raise and allocate funds to areas of greatest need within PHS, and to enhance the lives of Presbyterian employees. Through PresGiving, employees have the opportunity to support their favorite programs within Presbyterian and the community by giving through the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation or United Way.

Examples of how your contribution makes a difference:

Pathways to Nursing Excellence: Nurses receive support in the form of scholarships, advisement and mentoring to complete a bachelor of science or master of science degree in nursing. The goal of the program is to develop enhanced individual and organizational skills to improve patient outcomes and the health of the community.

Nursing Education: Provides funding to nurses for conferences, certification classes and other nursing related educational activities to meet the organizational goals of continuous learning.

Employee CareFund: Provides financial assistance to employees and volunteers who experience a catastrophic event resulting in a financial emergency. In 2012, the CareFund provided 88 employees with monetary assistance for a total of $128,138.63. The fund also assisted 29 employees with PTO for a total of 1,688.77 hours which converts to $37,103.51.

Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Program: Imagine a child wearing a beaded necklace like it was a merit badge, except that each bead stands for a completed hospital procedure. Beads of Courage is a reward program that provides a way for children to collect beads as symbols of their journey through multiple medical procedures. As part of this program, two physicians, a nurse practitioner, five nurses and two technicians assist more than 20 children on the sixth floor of Presbyterian Hospital in the Presbyterian Infusion Center.
