At Presbyterian, we do more with less. We have much lower revenue targets than our for-profit competitors. We keep healthcare costs lower and reinvest more. Any profit we earn at Presbyterian is returned to the community through more health care. Every penny. That means every dollar you give to the Cornerstone Community Annual Fund Campaign comes back to you in the equivalent of nationally recognized, superior healthcare services.
You Can Make a Difference Now
The Foundation's mission is to raise and allocate current and deferred charitable contributions to support past and future needs throughout the Presbyterian Healthcare Services system.
Every year we ask the community to support this mission through giving to an annual campaign and by supporting a variety of fundraising events, and they respond generously.
We take seriously our fiscal responsibility for the monies raised. Such monies raised from community members support Presbyterian Healthcare Services. The Foundation is a self-supporting organization funded entirely by a portion of the proceeds from investment income.
All charitable contributions from our donors are distributed based on the donor's intent. This stewardship is the cornerstone of philanthropic accountability.
An Investment Oversight Committee carefully monitors the investment policy and practices of the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation.
In addition to this oversight, the Foundation's Executive Committee and Finance and Allocation Committees closely monitor the operations of the Foundation.
The staff and board are accountable for ensuring that the assets are used to fulfill the 'nonprofit' mission of Presbyterian Healthcare Services.
The two key components to this assurance are the transparency of the Foundation's operations and meaningful access to the Foundation's staff and board, which review past and current operations in addition to future plans.
These components are intertwined; this openness provides the data and information that make access effective.
