2012 Laughter is the Best Medicine
August 25, 2012
"Jewels of the Nile"
Spend an evening at the oasis and be transported to the Egyptian desert of the sphinxes and pyramids at this year’s Laughter is the Best Medicine event on Saturday, August 25th, at the Albuquerque Convention Center. Laughter, featuring a gourmet dinner, dazzling silent auction and entertainment by funny man John Pinette, benefits the Children’s Center at Presbyterian and promises to please the choosiest of pharaohs.
The Children’s Center at Presbyterian is New Mexico's premier provider of hospital services for children and cares for more children than any other hospital in the state. The team of more than 300 pediatric care providers at The Children’s Center works 24/7 to meet the needs of our smallest patients, but most important to the healing of these children is the love, support and presence of their families.
The money raised at this year’s Laughter will help to build a vitally important Family Room for our smallest patients’ parents and families – essentially, a home away from home. This special space will provide sleeping quarters, laundry facilities, a kitchen and other amenities that will allow families to maintain a sense of normalcy and provide a place of solace during a very difficult time but always within steps of their child’s hospital room.
Please consider supporting the Children’s Center at Presbyterian through Laughter is the Best Medicine at your most generous level possible. Join us in your jewels and linen as we bring the spirit of Cleopatra to life and help keep the spirits of our pediatric families high.
If you are interested in sponsoring the event, purchasing tickets and tables or donating to the auction, please call Melanie at (505) 724-6586.
