21st Century Hospital
Presbyterian has created a healing environment for New Mexicans, using everything we know about treating patients and the latest in design features for hospital care.
Design meets safety and efficiency
We’ve incorporated key design elements in our Emergency Department that are intended to decrease treatment time to 90-120 minutes. Patient flow is maximized using our triage system which directs patients to one of two areas: Lean Track for single issue concerns or Acute Track for complex issues.
Our six identical operating suites were designed to enhance efficiency and patient safety by standardizing the placement of supplies and equipment. The suites surround a sterile supply room and have a supply pass-through which limits traffic into the surgical area helping to lower the risk of infections and decreasing wait time for supplies.

Our patient rooms are designed to allow for any level of care, are identical in layout and incorporate dual headwalls that support the ability for in-room procedures.
We have the only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on the Westside. We designed the department with all-private rooms to lower infections and control stimuli for these very critical babies.
