What is Innovation?
Presbyterian defines innovation as a meaningful change that improves value for customers and increases organizational performance. Innovation is not just about how to do things better, it’s about how to do things better and differently. As we are always concerned with the quality and efficiency of what we do, Presbyterian recognizes the need to look at our healthcare structure differently. In other words, how can we provide the same or better services in different ways?
We’ve created an Innovation Lab
We are partnering with our healthcare teams and our customers to create an exceptional healthcare experience through innovation. When Henry Ford designed the automobile, he stated, if “I would have asked people what they wanted, they would have asked for a bigger, faster horse.” Ford’s innovation radically changed everyone’s concept of transportation. Through our innovation efforts, we will find ways to radically change healthcare and how it’s delivered.
Why is innovation important?
Our primary goal is a healthy life for our patients and health plan members. We recognize that there are many ways to accomplish this goal using ideas that are totally different from how we do things now. Our customers expect good, reliable, quality care. We will diligently address our customers’ expectations while we design new ways to create an exceptional experience.
How can you take part?
People are the foundation of innovation. Your ideas and experiences will help us develop new ways to provide healthcare. We will use the knowledge of our patients and health plan members, employees and industries outside healthcare to generate new ideas to meet their needs and expectations while creating an experience that is exceptional.
Your past experiences, special skills and open mindedness will feed our innovation. You will be instrumental in defining the future of healthcare.
The Innovation Lab at Rust Medical Center will be creating new processes to deliver exceptional healthcare experiences. We need you to help us on this journey by bringing us ideas and participating in our innovation trials.
