Socorro General Hospital Board of Trustees

Because we are owned by the communities we serve, we are governed and guided by community leaders who volunteer to serve on our board of trustees. These fellow New Mexicans willingly donate their time, energy and expertise to improving the health of patients, members and the communities we serve.

Blake GerardSocorro Board - B. Gerard
Chair

Blake Gerard is a lifelong resident of Socorro County and the Owner and Operator of Socorro Office Supply. He has been a business owner for more than 20 years and is well respected and well known in the community.

Mr. Gerard has previously served as President of the Chamber of Commerce and as a Board member of the Small Business Development Center. He has served as a Board member of Socorro General Hospital since 1991.
 

Lorraine Archuleta
Socorro Board - L. Archuleta
Lorraine Archuleta is a native of Socorro and has served on the Socorro General Hospital Community Board of Trustees since 2003. She is the Administrative Secretary/Buyer at NMT Magdalena Ridge Observatory and is also active in supporting her community.

Ms. Archuleta serves as a community advocate via several venues, including her role on the El Camino Real Board of Directors (Heritage Center). She also serves on the Socorro Community Relations & Development Committee.

Bo Beames bbeames

Bo Beames has served as Socorro General Hospital's administrator since July 2006. Previously, Mr. Beames served as administrator of Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari. Both hospitals are part of Presbyterian Healthcare Services' system of eight community not-for-profit hospitals throughout New Mexico. Mr. Beames is a native of Hobbs, New Mexico. He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico and holds a master’s degree from the University of North Texas and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of South Dakota.

In addition to his service in Tucumcari, Mr. Beames served as Administrative Director of Black Hills Rehabilitation Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota from 1995-2004. He began his career in healthcare management at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1989. Mr. Beames is a Certified Healthcare Executive by the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Fellow of Healthcare Financial Management Association, and a licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

Lynn BrandvoldSocorro Board - L. Brandvold

Lynn Brandvold is Senior Chemist Emeritus and a retired Chemistry instructor from New Mexico Tech University, Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources. She has been a member of the Socorro General Hospital Community Board of Trustees since 1991. Ms. Brandvold is active in community service and is a member of the Socorro Rotary Club.

Eileen Comstock
Eileen Comstock
Eileen Comstock, MD is a family practice physician with interests in emergency medicine, surgery, and geriatrics. She is board certified in Family Medicine and has practiced in Socorro since 1996. Dr. Comstock has served as Chief of the Medical Staff at Socorro General Hospital, as Medical Director for Socorro Ambulance and also for Good Samaritan Society, Socorro (long term care). She has participated in medical missions to Central America.

Dr. Comstock earned a B.S. degree in Biology from New Mexico Tech and her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine.
 

Ron GilworthSocorro Board - R. Gilworth

Ron Gilworth has resided in Socorro since 1963. He gave more than 43 years of service to Socorro General Hospital and retired in 2005. During his tenure, he worked as the Lab and Radiology Manager and as an Assistant Administrator.

Mr. Gilworth has been a member of the Socorro Masonic Lodge for more than 35 years and is a founding member of the Socorro Eagle Club. He is also a member of the Socorro Chamber of Commerce and a past member of the Socorro Golf Club. Mr. Gilworth has served nine years as president of the New Mexico Bass Federation and eight years as the New Mexico Bass Federation Conservation Director. During his time with the Bass Federation, he worked directly with the Governor’s office on the development of state fisheries and habitat improvement.

Janine Morgan-AragonSocorro Board - J. Morgan Aragon

Janine Morgan-Aragon is a retired Elementary School teacher. She volunteers as the Treasurer for the Socorro General Hospital Auxiliary and has served on the Board of Trustees since 2008. 

Ms. Morgan-Aragon is also very involved in volunteering for Literacy Volunteers-Socorro County, the Socorro County Association of Educational Retirees, and the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees.

Rick PennerSocorro Board - R. Penner

Rick Penner is a Certified Public Accountant and Principal of the accounting firm Beckham & Penner, P.C. He has been a member of the Socorro General Hospital Community Board of Trustees since 2000 and chairs the Socorro General Hospital Board Finance Committee. Mr. Penner is also a member of the Socorro Rotary Club. 

Peter RomeroSocorro Board - P. Romero

Peter Romero is retired from the United States Marine Corps. He is now a volunteer and serves the community on a full time basis. He leads volunteers at Good Samaritan Nursing Home as well as the Socorro General Hospital Auxiliary and a variety of other local causes. Mr. Romero has also served as President of the Socorro General Hospital Auxiliary.

Denise Shrum Socorro Board - D. Shrum

Denise Shrum is an HSE Site Specialist and Technical Writer for Honeywell Technology Sol, Inc. She is a former Socorro Chamber of Commerce member and a member of the Beta Sigma Women’s Service Sorority. Ms. Shrum has been involved with the “Go Red” campaign for Heart disease over the past several years.

Robert TackerSocorro Board - R. Tacker

Robert Tacker is a self-employed Information Technology consultant. He previously held positions as Director of Information Services for New Mexico Tech in Socorro, as well as Senior Technical Advisor in the Office of the Governor under Governor Johnson.

Mr. Tacker serves as the President and a member of the Socorro Chamber of Commerce, Chairman and member of the Socorro Economic Development Committee, member of the Socorro Housing Authority and member of Rotary International. He received his associate’s degree in Applied Math from Casper College, his bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems from the University of Wyoming Casper and his master’s degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix.

Jan TarrJan Tarr

Jan Tarr, RN, CDE is a school nurse for Socorro Consolidated Schools. She was the Certified Diabetic Educator at Presbyterian Medical Groups's Belen and Socorro clinics from 2002 to 2010, where she provided contract work through the Albuquerque-based Diabetic Network. She is extremely active throughout Socorro supporting physical education, nutrition and health promotion and diabetes education.
