Las Conchas Firefighters Receive Aid from Albuquerque Ambulance

News Release: June 30, 2011
Presbyterian’s Albuquerque Ambulance donated two cases of normal saline intravenous (IV) fluid to help care for the dehydrated firefighters battling the Las Conchas fire that is raging in Northern New Mexico.
The New Mexico Emergency Medical Services Bureau called Albuquerque Ambulance as part of a state wide request for 100 bags of fluid to be used for dehydrated firefighters fighting the forest fire near Los Alamos.
By way of ambulance, Albuquerque Ambulance delivered the fluids to the Presbyterian Española Hospital. While there, the ambulance was used to evacuate a ventilator-dependent patient due to the unhealthy air quality in the area to Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque.
