Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital Partners With Safer New Mexico Now To Provide Low-Cost Child Safety Seats To The Community

News Release: December 4, 2007

TUCUMCARI, NM – Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital has partnered with Safer New Mexico Now to begin a child safety seat distribution program.

From January 1, 2008 until September 1, 2008, Safer New Mexico Now will provide child safety seats to Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital for families with children in need of car seats.

"We are really excited to be able to participate in this partnership with Safer New Mexico Now so that we can provide our patients and their families an inexpensive resource that will create a sense of ownership and awareness around the importance of child safety seats," said Lorena Caldera, Dr. Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital site coordinator.

To maintain the program, each child safety seat recipient will have to provide a $15 money order made out to Safer New Mexico Now. Safer New Mexico will track the funds and this charge will only be used to generate funds that solely benefit the child safety seat distribution program.

Each child safety seat recipient will be provided with education by a certified child passenger safety technician who will explain the correct use of a car seat.
