Presbyterian Healthcare Services Announces New Mexico Nursing Excellence Award Recipient

ALBUQUERQUE, NM -- Kathy Davis, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer of Presbyterian Healthcare Services was presented the 2006 New Mexico Nursing Excellence Award in the category of Nurse Executive.

Davis earned her bachelor's of nursing degree from West Texas A & M University in Canyon, Texas, and earned her MBA from the University of New Mexico. She serves on the boards for the NM Organization of Nurse Executives and the NM Center for Nursing Excellence, where she is chair-elect. Davis was a Robert Wood Johnson Nurse Executive Fellow from 2000-2003.

Presbyterian Healthcare Services also had 34 nurses who were nominees for the New Mexico Nursing Excellence Awards.

This event honored nurses from across the state in 21 categories for excellence in nursing practice, as well as honoring nursing legends of New Mexico who have served a lifetime of achievements and have significantly contributed to the profession.
