Pet Therapy Dogs Get a "Thank You" Party From Presbyterian
Media Advisory: April 17, 2009
A special group of hospital volunteers will get a well deserved “thank you party” from Presbyterian Hospital on Friday, April 17, 2009. Did we mention that this group of volunteers walks on four legs and has wet furry noses?
Presbyterian will honor the extraordinary efforts and contributions of more than 15 dogs and their handlers who specialize in “pet therapy” for hospital patients at Presbyterian. The event will take place at Three Dog Bakery, 9821 Montgomery Blvd and will include a celebration as well as a very special cake!
Pet therapy has been a part of Presbyterian for 15 years and is offered at Presbyterian Hospital and Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital. Twenty-three specially trained dogs and handlers are currently enrolled in the program and help thousands of patients to feel better each year.
