Charles L. Baumgart, M.D. Hired As Presbyterian's Physician Advisor And The Health Plan's Associate Medical Director

Focus To Be Presbyterian Medical Staff Continuous Quality Improvement

Albuquerque, NM -- Presbyterian Healthcare Services has hired Charles L. Baumgart, M.D., to be the physician advisor for hospital utilization management and associate medical director for the health plan. Dr. Baumgart will oversee timely and appropriate patient care in the inpatient setting. He will work with Presbyterian medical staffs' continuous quality improvement activities.

Baumgart has practiced internal medicine for 13 years. For the last four years, he has been an internal medicine and geriatric specialist for the Talbert Medical Group. Prior to that, he practiced general internal medicine in Iowa. Over the last ten years, Baumgart has worked with organizations reviewing utilization standards and quality of patient care. Most recently, he served as a consultant to the New Mexico Medical Review Association located in Albuquerque.
