Nursing Orientation

General nursing orientation at Presbyterian has been designed to assist the new employee to succeed in their roles whether they are a hospital nurse, clinic nurse, in-patient tech, medical assistant or unit secretary. PHS views the successful on-boarding of a new team member as everyone's responsibility. Nursing Orientation includes 1 week of interactive, instructor-led classes, and computer-skills labs all complemented by presentations from key clinical leaders.

The program is designed to introduce new employees to the values, standards and expectations of our "Every patient, every member, every time" philosophy. In addition, staff are given an opportunity to learn about their benefits, being safe on the job, how to navigate the Presbyterian intranet as well as information about the Organization's recognition program, career ladder and tuition programs.

Our orientation is organized to provide a comprehensive introduction of the Presbyterian Health System's structure, practice and mission for nurses entering the system to guide their patient care within regulatory guidelines and evidence-base practice recommendations.
