Pediatric Inpatient Services: 24 x 7 Admissions and Consultations
Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Our 50-bed, state-of-the-art, Level III NICU is staffed 24 x 7 by board-certified neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, physical therapists, registered nurses, lactation consultants, respiratory therapists, social workers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and technicians. A specially trained neonatal transport team is available by helicopter or ambulance to transport critically ill infants.

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Fellowship-trained intensivists provide 24-hour care to hundreds of patients each year. Nearly 50% come from outside the Albuquerque area.

- Multi-specialty services
- Surgical services
- Specialized PICU nursing and respiratory therapist
- Family sleep room
- Helicopter or ambulance transport services
Pediatric Unit
Pediatric hospitalists provide 24-hour care to all patients admitted from outside the Albuquerque area.
Pediatric Unit features and services:
- 32 beds
- Newborn services for nearly 6,000 births per year
- Special care newborn services
- Sedation services

Level III NICU
The Children's Medical Center Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides an unprecedented level of care for premature infants and newborns with infections, birth defects, breathing difficulties, growth restriction and maternal health problems. Transportation to our Level III NICU is available via helecopter or ambulance.
