Lisa Farrell Lisa Farrell joined Presbyterian in 2001 and served as Chief Financial Officer of the Health Plan from 2006-2010 when she was promoted to the position of Vice President, Integrated Care Solutions. In 2013, Ms. Farrell took on the role of Interim President for Presbyterian Health Plan. She has extensive experience in integrated health systems and has worked in the areas of health plan finance and medical economics. Prior to entering private industry, Ms. Farrell was an audit manager with Arthur Andersen where she specialized in healthcare and public stock offerings. She is a Certified Public Accountant in New Mexico.

Jana Burdick Vice President, Chief Service Officer Jana Burdick has been employed by Presbyterian Health Plan since January 1986. During her years with Presbyterian, Ms. Burdick has served in management roles in a number of areas including Information Services, Claims, Member Services, Enrollment/Eligibility, and Finance. In October of 2009 she was promoted to Vice President and Chief Service Officer. In this role, she has overall responsibility for member and provider satisfaction. |
Mary Eden ![]() Vice President, Government Programs Mary Eden has been employed by Presbyterian Health Plan since 1992 in a variety of roles and has been accountable for Medicaid Programs since 1998. She has extensive knowledge of the unique attributes of government programs operations and regulations and was instrumental in the implementation of New Mexico's SALUD! managed care program in 1997. Ms. Eden serves as the Vice President of Government Programs overseeing both Medicaid and Medicare operations and risk adjustment efforts in conjunction with the Presbyterian Medical Group. She serves as an appointed member of the Medicaid Advisory Committee representing all the SALUD! managed care organizations and is a Board member of Safer New Mexico Now. |
Dale Maxwell Dale Maxwell joined Presbyterian in 2002 and was named Chief Financial Officer for Presbyterian Healthcare Services in 2010 after serving as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Delivery System, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Presbyterian Medical Group, and Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Presbyterian Health Plan. He is currently serving as Chief Financial Officer of Presbyterian Health Plan in addition to his duties as Chief Financial Officer of Presbyterian Healthcare Services. Mr. Maxwell is responsible for managing the fiscal affairs of Presbyterian Healthcare Services, including capital planning, investment management, and other related matters that ensure the integrity of the organization’s fiscal strength. He also directs Presbyterian’s internal and external auditing functions and directly supports three Presbyterian Healthcare Services Board of Directors committees: Finance, Compliance and Audit, and Investment.His career has included leadership roles in physician and hospital organizations, financial planning, performance and quality improvement, organizational development, and systems implementation. Mr. Maxwell earned his Bachelor’s of Accountancy degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico and his Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University in Orange, New Jersey. |
Ron Parton, MD, MPH ![]() Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Ron Parton, MD is a family physician and joined Presbyterian Health Plan as the Chief Medical Officer in October 2012. He provides overall medical leadership and direction for health care quality, pharmacy services, utilization management, population health, and cost improvement. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Master’s degree in Public Health in 1988, from the University of Iowa with an MD in 1983, and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979. Until recently, Dr. Parton was the Chief Executive Officer of Symphony Care Solutions and dedicated to helping healthcare delivery organizations align new payment models with care delivery and transform into accountable care organizations. He also served as Chief Medical Officer of Symphony Corporation. |
Hassan Sharif Hassan Sharif joined Presbyterian Health Plan in October 2012 and serves as the Executive Director and Chief Information Officer. He is a proven and seasoned senior technology executive with over 25 years of experience working for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 corporations including those in finance, manufacturing, insurance, and banking. Mr. Sharif has spent more than 15 years in health information technology performing multi-disciplinary functions such as managing the definition, design, development, and market penetration of industry-leading commercial healthcare enterprise resource planning platforms. He also led the implementation, deployment, security, and compliance of electronic medical and health record systems for EPSC and Cerner Corporation. As senior business leader at Visa, Inc., he was in charge of global data architecture and management, and at Kaiser, he was the Regional Information Officer for Program Offices and Executive Director of Corporate Services. He also served as the Executive Director for Governance, Risk and Compliance within Kaiser Permanente's Information Technology organization. Mr. Sharif holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Arts and Computer Science from San Francisco State University and an Executive MBA in Technology and Executive Management from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. |
Neal SperoVice President and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Commercial Product Sales Neal Spero joined Presbyterian Health Plan in 2009 and is originally from Arizona where he graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Mathematics. He started his career as a sales executive and assistant actuary for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Arizona and went on to hold actuarial and marketing/sales leadership positions with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Utah, Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa, and United Healthcare of the Midwest and shows a proven track record of success. Prior to coming to Presbyterian, he held several leadership positions with American Community in Michigan including Sr. Vice President responsible for the profit and loss of the Individual market segment. He oversaw the sales, underwriting, product development, marketing, administration and actuarial functions and was promoted to Sr. Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer with additional responsibilities in the small and large group lines of business. |
