Chocolate Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee, crystals (optional)
  • 2 Tablespoons sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

  1. Combine cornstarch and water in medium, heavy saucepan.
  2. Whisk until cornstarch is completely dissolved.
  3. Add corn syrup, cocoa, instant coffee and sugar. Stir well.
  4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes or until thickened and bubbly.
  5. Stir in the vanilla.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature for best results.

Yield: 1 cup
