Ginger Broiled Fish

Ingredients:

  • Vegetable oil spray
  • 2 pounds fresh or frozen fish fillets or steaks, about ¾ inch thick
  • ¾ cup dry white wine (regular or nonalcoholic)
  • 2 green onions (green and white parts), chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon light soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh gingerroot
  • 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish, drained
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil

Directions:

  1. Preheat broiler.
  2. Lightly spray a broiler-proof baking dish with vegetable oil spray.
  3. Put dish under broiler for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Rinse fish and pat dry with paper towels.
  5. Cut fish into 8 equal portions.
  6. Arrange in a single layer in preheated dish.
  7. In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients, stirring well. Pour over fish.
  8. Broil fish about 2 inches from heat for 5 to 6 minutes.
  9. Turn carefully and broil for 5 to 6 minutes, or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
