Southwestern Chili Beans

Ingredients
- 1 pound dried pinto beans, sorted and rinsed
- ½ - 1 pound beef or turkey, try lean
- ½ cup chopped onions
- 1 (14 ounce) can stewed or whole tomatoes (diced or mashed), undrained
- 1 cup canned or frozen green or red chili pepper, chili powder, if desired
Directions
- Cook dried beans as directed in package.
- In a large skillet brown ground beef or turkey and drain off fat. Rinse with hot water.
- Add beans, onion, tomatoes and chili pepper to meat and stir til mixed.
- To blend flavors, simmer 10 minutes until heated through.
