Healthplex Cardiac Rehabilitation

Exercise and learn with the pros! 

Cardiac rehab at the Presbyterian Healthplex provides individualized prescriptive exercise training, education, and counseling for patients with heart and vascular disease.  Research demonstrates there are multiple benefits from cardiac rehab services including:

  • Improvement in feeling of well-being and reduction of stress

Our staff of seasoned experts works with participants to improve cardiovascular health with exercises that increase aerobic capacity, muscular strength, endurance and flexibility.  Our comprehensive program includes counseling and an education series to decrease contributing risk factors and optimize recovery.  Cardiac Rehab staff includes Physicians, Nurses, Exercise Specialists, an Exercise Physiologist, Dietitians, a Certified Diabetes Educator, and a Respiratory Therapist.

Phase descriptions:

Phase II

Phase II Cardiac Rehab is a physician referred program for individuals with a recent cardiac event or diagnosis such as heart failure, heart attack, coronary artery bypass surgery, or stent placement.  Participants exercise in a physician supervised setting and work on risk factor modification through classroom education with support from a multi-disciplinary staff.  Research clearly demonstrates the health benefits of attending a Cardiac Rehab program.  Request a referral from your physician if you're a candidate.

Phase II Hours: 3:00-6:00 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Phase III

Phase III is a maintenance exercise program for those who have just completed a Phase II program or have a cardiac history needing the additional supervision provided by the nursing staff at the Healthplex.

Phase III Hours: 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Phase IV

Phase IV is a maintenance exercise program for Phase III graduates or for those with a remote cardiac history and are considered to be at low risk for problems during exercise.

Phase IV Hours:

  • 5:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday
  • 5:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Friday
  • 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Saturday
