Anesthesia Costs

Anasthesia Costs

The total anesthesia cost is comprised of two fees:

  1. Hospital Fee: Hospital anesthesia charges are for the use of the operating room and equipment, anesthetics, supplies and nursing staff provided to you.
  2. Anesthesiologist's Fee: The charge for professional services is billed by AANM for general, monitored anesthesia and pain management services provided to you.

Regardless of your insurance coverage/ benefits the patient/guarantor/responsible party is responsible for payment of the account.

Because AANM provides Presbyterian Hospital with anesthesia services, the "Registration Record/A.O.B."* form you signed while being admitted to the Hospital allows AANM to file your insurance for you and receive direct payment for your insurance benefits. AANM will file direct to most major insurance carriers. However, please note that AANM may not participate with all payers with whom Presbyterian Hospital participates. For your protection, please verify the participation of Anesthesia Associates of New Mexico with your insurers. AANM does accept assignment from Medicare.

You will continue to receive a monthly statement from AANM until the account is paid in full, and finance charges will begin to accrue at 60 days on any unpaid balance.

The AANM Patient Account Representative(s) are available to answer your questions concerning fees, insurance and payments. You may reach our Patient Account Representative(s) by calling toll-free in New Mexico 1-866-409-9364 or locally at 260-4343 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Thank you for allowing us to serve you.

Radiology Associates of Albuquerque, P.A. (RAA) is a specialty group of physicians who provide professional radiology services to the Presbyterian Hospital system. A radiologist is a medical doctor specially trained to interpret x-rays and other imaging examinations such as:

  • X-rays
  • Ultrasound
  • CT scans
  • Nuclear medicine tests
  • Mammography
  • Magnetic imaging resonance (MR)

They also perform interventional radiology procedures. Radiologists help other physicians detect and diagnose injuries and diseases. The radiologist is a consultant to whom patients are referred to by other physicians. Radiologists do not order imaging tests directly, but are asked to perform these tests on behalf of the referring physician.

The total cost of your x-ray covers two areas: the technical fee and the radiologist's fee. Because the radiologist is an independent physician and not an employee of Presbyterian, you will receive a separate bill for the radiologist's service.

X-Ray Costs

X-ray Costs

Technical fee: The technical fee covers the use of equipment, film, supplies and technical personnel and is billed by the facility/ hospital.

Radiologist's fee: The radiologist's fee covers the reading of the x-ray films and any written or oral consultation you may have with the radiologist.

As a courtesy, RAA will file an insurance claim for you, provided the facility receives the proper information, and it is provided to us. Because RAA contracts with Presbyterian to provide radiology services, the "Consent for Hospital/Physician Services" form you signed while being admitted to the hospital allows RAA to file your insurance and receive direct payment of your insurance benefits. RAA is a participating provider for Medicare, and that payment will also come directly to us.

It is our desire to assist you as much as possible in the settlement of your account. If you are unable to make payment in full, kindly contact our billing office for payment arrangements. Having insurance does not release you from the responsibility of your debt.

Our administrative staff is available to assist you with questions concerning fees, payment and insurance. Please call us at 505.292.8485 or 800.279.8369 between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and one of our representatives will be more than happy to assist you. Thank you for allowing us to serve you.
