Woman to Woman: Lisa

Seems like Presbyterian has always been a part of my family. I was born here. So was my brother.

When my sister, Lisa, discovered she was pregnant, she knew she'd deliver at Pres.

Good thing, too. She went into labor at 28 weeks.

She and her husband were terrified that they were going to lose the baby. He was so amazingly tiny. He was in the NICU for five weeks. Lisa and her husband -- and practically my whole family -- spent the entire time there. The NICU doctors and nurses were wonderful. They were so experienced with premature babies, and so calm. They reassured me, and, more important, they made my sister and her husband feel hopeful and gave them the strength to cope with the situation.

My nephew is nine now. He visited last weekend and spent an entire day climbing the tree in the back yard. My entire family will always be grateful to Presbyterian for the care they gave my nephew.
