Deciding on treatment options and choosing a hospital, practitioner, or health plan are decisions you should make by talking with your healthcare practitioner. You should not attempt to choose a hospital, healthcare practitioner, or health plan based solely on statistics and descriptions such as those given here. These statistics and descriptions only represent a small fraction of available information about the quality of health care. Current methods of assessing healthcare performance are not sophisticated enough to support such a use.
