Healthcare Excellence

While the face of health care has changed dramatically in 100 years, Presbyterian's dedication to healthcare excellence has remained the same.  As a national leader in patient safety, Presbyterian continues to implement leading-edge improvements in all aspects of care and quality as we strive to achieve "The Three Things:"

  1. An "AA" financial rating from Standard and Poor's and from Moody's and Fitch
  2. A ranking in the top 10% of the nation's hospitals for patient safety
  3. The National Malcolm Baldrige Award for Quality

Focusing on Quality and Patient Safety

2004: Presbyterian receives the Zia Award from Quality New Mexico, a state-level Baldrige equivalent.

2005: Presbyterian is one of only 14 organizations in the country to receive a site visit from the Malcolm Baldrige Award committee.

2006: Presbyterian receives a second site visit from the Malcolm Baldrige Award committee; and, for the third consecutive year, the Presbyterian Health Plan received the highest quality ranking for its managed care programs -- only one of nine health plans in the nation to receive this designation.

2007: Presbyterian Health Plan's diabetes care program performs above the 90th percentile nationally.
