System Requirements and Help
Using Web Services from your Home Connection
Logging in to PresOnline gives you a Menu of Services. From this menu, you can reach HPP, Compliance Edge, PresNet, and other programs, depending on your security access level.
External Vendor Programs
The following programs are provided by external vendors so you should not go to PresNet to reach these programs. Access these programs as follows:
- High Performance Plan (HPP): Click on "High Performance Plan" from the Menu of Services
- Compliance Edge: Click on "Compliance Edge Lessons" from the Menu of Services
- PresElect: Use this link, or the PresElect link on the phs.org Employee page
If you have already gone to PresNet and are returning to the Menu of Services to reach these programs, you should first close your browser to clear the PresNet connection. You do not need to close your internet connection, just your browser. Then return to phs.org to access these programs as above.

In addition, because of the variety of hardware and software available and the other uses you may have for your personal home PC, Presbyterian will only assist in resolving issues that relate to the Employee Home Access to PresNet setup and will not resolve issues that are caused by your personal PC configuration.

What can I expect to be able to do?
You should be able to perform 95 percent of the tasks you normally do in PresNet, with the following possible exceptions:
-
Applications unavailable through Employee Home Access to PresNet:
- ROS
- Rosters
- Unique ID Lookup
- EDD Approval Process
- Med Errors "short form" reports and administrative tasks
- Many PresNet documents require specific applications to open, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. These files comprise the majority of the contents in the document libraries. However, there may also be other kinds of files, such as PDF or MS Project files.
You may not be able to open these files, if you do not own the applications that were used to create them.
Presbyterian is not responsible for your personal software. If you need to access these types of files. and you do not own the appropriate applications, you will need to access these files while at work, or purchase the software yourself.
- Javascript applications such as the Presnet search function will not work if you are using Netscape. In that case, please use Internet Explorer instead.
What to consider if pages seem very slow to load:
PresNet was designed to be used internally, across high-speed, direct connections. Because of the design of the network at Presbyterian, there is rapid response on PresNet. Unless you are using a cable modem or DSL connection, some of the large-content pages may take a long time to load. This is not abnormal or any indication that Employee Home Access to PresNet is operating incorrectly.
Your browsing is logged:
Caution: Once you have logged into Employee Home Access to PresNet, your web activities are logged (tracked) by Presbyterian, until you disconnect by closing your browser. If you have completed your Employee Home Access to PresNet business and wish to resume external surfing, you are strongly advised to terminate your browser session and re-open it for non-Presbyterian related activities. Failure to disconnect from Employee Home Access to PresNet will result in an open PHS connection. All activities become subject to Presbyterian's Appropriate Use policy.
