Health Improvement Program
What is the Health Improvement Program?
The Health Improvement Program at the Presbyterian Healthplex is designed for the promotion of a healthy lifestyle - a lifestyle that can help prevent future health problems. This program focuses on managing and improving existing health risks, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, excessive weight, smoking and sedentary lifestyles.
What are the elements of the Health Improvement Program?
- Personalized exercise program and weight resistance training
- Supervision from Nurses and Exercise Specialists
- Offerings include a variety of fitness classes, Yoga, T'ai Chi Chih, Nia, and Indoor Cycling
- Wellness Nutritional Education and Certified Diabetes Educator consultations are available for an additional fee.
Who can participate?
Anyone interested in creating healthy behaviors is welcome in the Health Improvement Program.
PHS Employee Hours at the Healthplex:
Monday-Thursday 5:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
Friday 5:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.
Saturday 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
The gym equipment is reserved exclusively for Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab participants 12 hours a week:
Cardiac Rehab M-W-F 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Pulmonary Rehab T-Th-F 1:00-2:00 p.m.
