The First Time You Use The Course

  • Run the Prepare the PC page.
  • At the bottom of the page locate and click on the Help and Download page hyperlink.
  • Locate and click the MPEG layer-3 Codec button/hyperlink.
  • Follow the instructions to install this component.

Restart your PC and attempt the CBT course again

Taking the Course

The course is self-paced, and uses audio playback. There are 11 course topics, and the topic presentations vary in length from 2 to 10 minutes each for a total of 60 minutes. In addition, many of the topics have an associated “hands on” activity following the presentation, which take a few minutes to complete.

You can exit and come back to the course anytime. However, the software does not keep track of what topics you have completed. Please track your own progress when you exit the course and plan to return.

The recommended steps to follow are:

  • Review Navigation Tips from the main Playback Home Page before running the course
  • Select Start the HEO801 Course. The course will launch in a new window

Parts Not Applicable To Presbyterian

Some of the functions presented in the course do not apply to Presbyterian. Skip these sections:

  • Pre Orders
  • Personal Orders
  • Non-Formulary Orders

In addition, the course shows HEO being started from “Health View”, which is the nursing tool at Presbyterian. At Presbyterian, HEO will be launched from the Physician Portal by selecting a patient and clicking the HEO tab.

You may notice other minor differences between the course, which is a generalized demonstration, and the Presbyterian implementation. For example, the order names and schedules shown in the course may be different from those used at Presbyterian.
