Presbyterian Santa Fe Clinic Now Offering Nuclear Stress Tests

January 30, 2019Press Release

SANTA FE, N.M. – Cardiologist Dr. Aamer Rehman and his team of technologists are now offering nuclear stress testing at Presbyterian Medical Group's 454 St. Michael's Drive location Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Nuclear stress testing, which uses radioactive dye and an imaging machine to create pictures showing blood flow to the heart, reveals areas with poor blood flow or damage to the heart. Nuclear stress testing can help diagnosis coronary artery disease and guide treatment.

"My goal is to ensure Santa Fe and northern New Mexico residents have access to comprehensive cardiology care close to home," said Dr. Rehman. "Previously, patients needing nuclear stress testing had to drive to Albuquerque. Today, with a physician referral, this test can be performed in about three hours at our clinic."

Dr. Rehman and his team specialize in treating disorders of the heart, including the diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, heart failure, coronary disease, valvular heart disease and more. In addition to nuclear stress testing, they can also perform cardiac catheterizations, heart arrhythmia testing, heart ultrasounds, vascular ultrasounds and pacemaker monitor services to help diagnosis and treat some of the most common cardiac concerns.
