"We are proud to be recognized as a 2016 Top Performer for excellence in financial strength,” said Brenda Romero, Administrator, Presbyterian Española Hospital. “National Rural Health Day is a great opportunity to recognize the tremendous work of rural healthcare providers and employees across New Mexico."

This year, 18 New Mexico hospitals reached top quartile performance in Quality, Patient Outcomes, Patient Satisfaction and Financial Strength, according to NOSORH and iVantage. Rankings were designated by the Hospital Strength INDEX™, which assesses hospital performance across the country.

The Hospital Strength Index® serves as the basis for some of the most prominent awards in rural healthcare. It provides the industry standard for assessing and benchmarking rural Critical Access Hospital performance by measuring nine pillars of performance, encompassing 71 different metrics.
