On Monday, December 5, Presbyterian learned that it has been upgraded by Standard and Poor’s credit rating agency from a “–AA” rating to “AA” rating. “There is no better validation than that of a rating agency to recognize our efforts of continuously being good stewards of our community’s resources,” said Dale Maxwell, Presbyterian’s senior vice president and chief financial officer. The following day, Presbyterian Hospital was one of 65 hospitals in the nation designated a “Top Hospital” by the Leapfrog Group. The “Top Hospital” designation, which is the most competitive national hospital quality award in the country, recognizes hospitals that deliver the highest quality care by preventing medical errors, reducing mortality for high-risk procedures like heart bypass surgery and reducing hospital readmissions for patients being treated for conditions like pneumonia and heart attack. On Thursday, December 8, Presbyterian was recognized by the New Mexico Business Weekly as one of New Mexico’s top ten Best Places to Work in the large company category. This recognition was based on anonymous employee surveys, which were administered by Quantum Workplace. More than 90 companies nominated themselves for the Best Places to Work award. To conclude the week, Presbyterian and the Rust Family shared the “Vision Award” given by the New Mexico chapter of NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association, for the innovative design of Rust Medical Center. The Vision Award recognizes projects and/or people who help envision and create a better future for our community.
