Presbyterian Health Plan Named A Best Value Plan in Consumer Reports

October 29, 2013
ALBUQUERQUE, NM –Presbyterian Health Plan and Presbyterian Insurance Company, Inc. are the highest ranked commercial health plans in New Mexico in the November 2013 issue of Consumer Reports magazine. Both also received the “Best Value” designation as plans that “give the biggest bang for your health care dollar.”
PHP’s Medicare Advantage plan was ranked second in New Mexico and also received the “Best Value” designation.
Consumer Reports used data collected by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for the overall ranking of health plans. The Best Value designation is based on how well health plans help their members with diabetes manage their condition, particularly since diabetes can be expensive to manage and often requires coordination between multiple providers for optimal care.
“We are honored to be recognized for our value,” said Lisa Lujan, President, Presbyterian Health Plan. “This ranking recognizes the hard work we have done across our integrated system to seek ways to provide quality and affordable care.”
