SANTA FE, N.M. – Presbyterian Healthcare Services will break ground today on a new clinic in Santa Fe. The clinic will be approximately 32,000 square feet and represents a $10.5 million investment in healthcare for Santa Fe residents.
The clinic is expected to open in early 2015. The construction contract was awarded to Enterprise Builders Corp. of Albuquerque on March 20.
“We are excited to bring additional providers and primary care services to the Santa Fe community,” said Jim Breland, Director of Clinics and Support Services, Presbyterian Medical Group. “We spent more than a year talking to our Santa Fe patients and members, as well as the medical community, to better understand the services that are needed. We hope this clinic will increase access to services and add to the community’s choices.”
The clinic will feature an innovative patient-centered medical home model that focuses on primary care, as well as a walk-in clinic. It will initially offer three to four primary care providers, several walk-in clinic providers and basic radiology services. TriCore Reference Laboratories will also occupy space in the clinic. Additional specialties have not been determined yet.
Presbyterian has been serving Northern New Mexico for more than six decades, and Presbyterian Health Plan has more than 20 years of history in the community with about 33,000 Santa Fe residents currently enrolled in a Presbyterian insurance plan.
Presbyterian will celebrate 106 years of serving New Mexicans on October 24, 2014.
