Understanding Your Bill

Healthcare bills can be confusing. Presbyterian Health Plan, Inc. wants to make it easy for you to understand the expenses associated with your care and what you may owe. General information on healthcare costs and the types of costs you can expect to see are detailed on Understanding Who Pays for What

You can find a detailed explanation of your bill, as well as tools to pay your bill online at Presbyterian’s myPRES. When you receive a bill, you will want to review it. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us.

Generally, you are responsible for the difference between what your healthcare provider charges and the amount your insurance covers. There are exceptions. At a most basic level, each time you receive an invoice you should:

  • Check to make sure it reflects the care you received.
  • Check to make sure the invoice was submitted to your insurer.
  • Immediately contact customer service to try to resolve discrepancies or questions. Don’t ignore the bill! While mistakes are rare, they do happen, and they won’t fix themselves.

Presbyterian Health Plan, Inc. is committed to high quality customer service.
