      Continuing Medical Education

For more than 30 years, Presbyterian’s Medical Education department has developed, implemented, and evaluated continuing medical education (CME) programs activities throughout our health system and across New Mexico. We strive to offer physicians and other healthcare professionals educational activities that promote excellence in service through lifelong learning and continuous improvements in patient healthcare.

Presbyterian’s Medical Education department can help with all CME-related questions, including:

      • CME activity offerings

      • Activity registration and payment

      • Utilizing eeds.com, Presbyterian’s online CME-host

      • Obtaining CME transcripts and/or certificates

      • Offering CME for your educational activity

For inquiries regarding CME, please contact the Presbyterian Medical Education coordinator at (505) 724-6057 or mededu@phs.org.

      What is CME?

Presbyterian hosts activities offering AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.

CME credits are specifically for physicians (MDs and DOs), who can use them for certification with various medical organizations.

Non-physicians who attend CME activities will receive attendance credit, which often applies toward the requirements of specific organizations or programs. For information about other types of continuing education credits such as CEUs and CNEs, please contact Clinical Education.

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is accredited by the New Mexico Medical Society (NMMS) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

      CME Portal

Presbyterian Medical Education partners with eeds, a web-based CME-host, to provide online-access to all Presbyterian CME activities. Through eeds, participants can sign-in to activities, complete evaluations, claim their credits, and much more.

View upcoming Presbyterian activities that are offering CME credits

Many Presbyterian CME activities welcome participants from the community.

      Accreditation with Commendation

For the last three accreditation cycles, Presbyterian was awarded Accreditation with Commendation, which is the highest level of recognition that a CME accreditation organization can merit.

      Joint-sponsored Activities

While only Presbyterian-affiliated providers can apply for CME credit through Presbyterian Medical Education, Presbyterian also partners with outside organizations to provide CME activities in joint-sponsorship.

To learn more about joint sponsorship, please contact Medical Education directly.
