Population Health Fellowship
The Presbyterian Population Health Fellowship for Physicians is designed for physicians interested in careers in patient-centered population health. This unique yearlong fellowship – one of only a few in the nation – is split between clinical practice and a fellowship program work.
Program
This fellowship is designed for physicians interested in careers in patient-centered population health, with a focus on:
Improving the health of medically underserved populations
Improving the quality of primary care
Enhancing patient experiences and outcomes in New Mexico
Curriculum
The program prepares fellows to become clinical leaders, advocates of population health and agents of positive and effective change. They’ll experience the day-to-day opportunities and challenges in a value-based care organization including:
Leadership development
Population health
Case management
Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH)
Healthcare finance
Medical cost management
Health plan operations
Clinical quality
Community health
Data and analytics
Information technology
Eligibility & Application Requirements
Applicant eligibility:
Successful completion of an ACGME Accredited residency in family medicine or internal medicine
U.S. Citizen or permanent resident status (we are currently unable to sponsor visas)
Passing scores on USMLE Step 1, 2 and 3
Graduates of non-U.S. medical schools must have ECFMG certification
Active New Mexico medical license before matriculation
An on-site interview is required
