Nurse Extern at Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico
Presbyterian is committed to supporting nursing students through our Nurse Extern program. Located in New Mexico, this program is designed to provide upcoming nurses with the tools required to deliver safe, high-quality care to our patients and communities.
A Nurse Extern is a Level 3 - Level 6 unlicensed nursing student who has been hired on as a 0.5 Presbyterian Employee. We are seeking applicants with 9-12 months left of the program upon application. This program works in tangent with skills and critical thinking taught in the classroom.

Preceptor-supported clinical orientation
Immersion into nursing practice within Presbyterian and the community
Tiered Orientation utilizing Presbyterian developed Competency Blocks
