Offering comfort through Hospice House

April 20, 2023FeaturedIn the News

The Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, in partnership with Presbyterian Hospice Care, was recently featured in Environments for Aging Magazine.

The house, which opened in 2022, is a residential hospice facility where patients and families can receive home-like hospice care in the last days or weeks of life. The facility is projected to serve more than 300 patients and their families every year.

The facility sits on 1.5 acres in northeast Albuquerque and includes 10 private rooms with bathrooms, seating for families and a patio. It also includes living and dining areas, a family space with a large kitchen, a meditation area and exterior garden spaces. In addition to physician oversight, staffing will include nurses, aides, hospice chaplains, social workers and volunteers.

Donations to Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation funded the $3.3 million construction completed by Enterprise Builders. Proceeds from Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation's annual Daffodil Days fundraiser go toward supporting hospice house operations each year.
