Presbyterian to participate in heart pump study

March 7, 2024Our Stories

Presbyterian Heart and Vascular Care is participating in an international study to learn how a heart pump may help heart attack patients who experience a life-threatening condition called cardiogenic shock.

“This is an important study that will help us understand how to better treat our patients who experience cardiogenic shock,” said Dr. Sharif Halim, interventional cardiologist, Presbyterian Healthcare Services. “We are grateful that Presbyterian will be participating in this research. Our participation will help us improve our community’s heart care and allow us to give new and innovative treatments for heart attack.”

Dr. Sharif Halim will host an information session about the RECOVER IV trial on Wednesday, March 13 at 6pm. This session will be open to the community so members can ask questions and learn more about the study. Join the session at https://bit.ly/r4phs.
