Presbyterian’s Healthcare Advanced Learning Lab earns national accreditation

February 13, 2026Press Release

Presbyterian Healthcare Services announced that its Healthcare Advanced Learning Lab (The HALL) has earned professional accreditation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), recognizing the Lab’s adherence to the highest international standards for healthcare education, training and simulation.

The HALL is the first and only simulation lab in New Mexico to receive SSH accreditation, reinforcing Presbyterian’s commitment to workforce excellence, patient safety and innovation.

“SSH accreditation validates that our education programs are evidence-based, consistent and outcomes-driven,” said Ivan Fronefield, director of simulation and nursing education. “It directly supports safer care and stronger clinical readiness across our system.”

In 2025, The HALL onboarded 1,176 new staff members, hosted more than 1,000 trainings and conducted 97 high-fidelity simulation events. The Lab also supported key initiatives, including PICU Transport and OB Red programs, and strengthened partnerships with nursing, residency and fellowship programs.

In 2026, The HALL will expand access to accredited training through a new mobile simulation vehicle funded by The Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, bringing advanced education directly to regional and rural facilities.
