RMC expands cardiac care with 24/7 cath lab

February 26, 2024Our Stories

Presbyterian Heart and Vascular Care has expanded care with a 24/7 Catheterization Lab at Rust Medical Center (RMC) for patients suffering with heart emergencies.

While outpatient cardiology and care for cardiac emergencies has been offered for many years at RMC, expanding the cath lab to 24/7 allows them to treat patients with heart emergencies at all hours in the Rio Rancho and Sandoval County community.

Patients who present with severe blockage in their arteries typically need to be operated on within 90 minutes to improve survival rates and long-term quality of life. These patients can now be treated at RMC.
