ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Six Presbyterian hospitals have earned Maternal Levels of Care Verification from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), making Presbyterian the only health system in New Mexico with hospitals that have achieved this nationally recognized designation.
The verified hospitals include Presbyterian Hospital, Rust Medical Center, Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center, Presbyterian Española Hospital, Lincoln County Medical Center and Socorro General Hospital.
The Maternal Levels of Care Verification program recognizes hospitals that have the staffing, resources and clinical capabilities needed to provide safe, high-quality care for pregnant and postpartum patients.
“This verification reflects the dedication and expertise of our physicians, nurses and care teams across Presbyterian,” said Holly Muller, chief nursing officer for Presbyterian Healthcare Services. “It demonstrates our commitment to providing high-quality maternal care and ensuring families across New Mexico, including those in rural communities, have access to the care they need close to home.”
The verification is based on national standards developed by ACOG and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine and evaluates a hospital’s ability to provide risk-appropriate care for mothers and babies.
