Urogynecology is a subspecialty of women’s care that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions concerning the female reproductive organs and their supporting tissues and muscles. This specialty requires a combination of training in urology, gynecology and colorectal surgery. Some conditions treated by this specialist include prolapse, incontinence and related issues with defecation. This specialist will often work with other doctors and healthcare team members to provide a specialized diagnostic and testing plan.
