Presbyterian Community Health Resource Center opens

June 7, 2019Press Release

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Designed as a hub for patients and the larger community, the new Presbyterian Community Health Resource Center opened on June 12.

The center provides access to nutritious food, resources to support healthy living, and social services to help improve overall health. It includes the Food Farmacy for patients in need, a teaching kitchen, a community meeting space, a community garden and access to resources provided by Presbyterian Community Health.

The center was created on the Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital campus to support the health needs of neighbors –within a two-mile radius of the new center, more than 14,000 children and more than 3,400 seniors live in poverty, 13 percent of residents live with diabetes and 33 percent have high blood pressure.

Presbyterian is focused on providing these kind of services to patients in their home communities, and expects to open at least one other resource center of this kind in Albuquerque in the next few years.

The center is in a renovated 4,869 square-foot building on 1301 Wyoming Blvd. NE. The renovation project began in November 2018 and was completed in May.
