Internal Medicine

Internal medicine is a primary care specialty focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. As primary care providers, internal medicine physicians are trained to diagnose and treat acute medical illness, as well as direct the long-term management of recurrent and chronic medical problems such as asthma, congestive heart failure and diabetes. The role of an internal medicine physician is to provide preventive health care, treat asymptomatic risks factors, teach healthy lifestyle choices, manage chronic illnesses, and offer the latest immunization protocols.
