Getting Started as a New Member

Welcome to Presbyterian Health Plan, thank you for choosing us to be your partner in care. Get started using your plan in 4 easy steps.

1. Sign Up for myPRES

The myPRES portal provides secure, 24-hour access to health plan tools and resources just for Presbyterian members.

  • Find your plan materials so you know what is covered.

  • Review your claims history.

  • Request and print a replacement member ID card.

  • Email your care team and access test results (only a Presbyterian Medical Group patient service).

2. Choose a Primary Care Provider (PCP)

Choosing an in-network primary care provider (PCP) allows you to get the care you need, when you need it. Your PCP is a doctor, nurse practitioner or other health professional who provides most of your care. They can also help arrange other needed care, like seeing a specialist.

3. Manage and Fill Prescriptions

Make sure your prescriptions are transferred to an in-network pharmacy. With most of our health plans, you can sign up for home delivery/mail-order pharmacy that brings your prescriptions right to your door.

4. Getting Care and Using Your Coverage

When it’s time to use your coverage, we want you to know your options. This includes PCP visits, specialty care, virtual care, urgent care and more. Always show your ID card when you need care at medical facilities or pharmacies. If you need to access care but have not gotten your card in the mail, you can get a temporary ID card on myPRES.

Paying Your Premiums

If your plan has a premium, there are many ways to pay it.

  • Online: We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. Make your premium payment using your myPRES account.

  • By phone: If you are on a Presbyterian Individual and Family Plan, you can make your monthly payment using a credit card, debit or pre-paid debit card over the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with our automated phone service. Call 505-923-5678.

  • Automatic bank transfers: Set up automatic recurring payments (Electronic Funds Transfer) by speaking to a Presbyterian Customer Service Center rep at 505-923-5678.

  • By mail: Pay your premium by mail with a personal check, cashier's check or money order. Make your check out to Presbyterian Health Plan and write your member ID number on your check or include the payment coupon that was sent with your bill. Send your payment at least 5 business days before the payment due date to make sure it is posted to your account on time.

Getting Care Outside of New Mexico

In-person care

All plans cover urgent care and emergency care services wherever you are—it doesn't matter if you are in New Mexico or not.

However, your plan may or may not have coverage for non-emergency care outside of New Mexico. Call the Presbyterian Customer Service Center or review your plan materials to learn more about your plan's out-of-state coverage.

Whether you have out-of-state coverage or if you are paying out-of-pocket, use our national healthcare provider network.

To receive services outside of New Mexico, members can search for a provider through our national network of medical providers or our national network of behavioral health providers.
