How to Register

Step 2: Sign up for a Video Visit Account

Fill out a medical questionnaire. It's quick and easy and we'll walk you through each step. Complete this form in advance so you're ready to go should you need to schedule a Video Visit later.

Step 3: Schedule Your Online Visit

You will need to enter your symptoms. If you are on a high deductible health plan (HDHP), you will also need to enter your payment information. A care coordinator will call you after you schedule a visit and place you into the Waiting Room queue.

Step 4: Your Visit

Within 30 minutes or less, you will connect with a medical provider. He or she will ask you to describe your medical issue, offer a diagnosis and medical advice, and, if a prescription is appropriate, send one to your pharmacy.

STEP 5: Get Your Visit Summary

You will get a text or an email after your visit, prompting you to download your visit summary. Return to your Presbyterian Video Visit profile account via myPRES anytime to review past medical information.

About Video Visits

Video Visits are a convenient way for you to get the medical care you need to treat common health issues via a computer with a webcam, tablet, or smartphone. You can use Video Visits when you're home, at work, traveling (in New Mexico), or you need to see a provider right away. You can speak with a provider, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. And your visit is secure, confidential, and compliant with all medical privacy regulations.

How Do Presbyterian Video Visits Work?

Login to your myPRES member account. Once online, choose to Schedule a Video Visit. You will be routed to the Presbyterian Video Visit welcome page where you will select to have a Video Visit consultation. You may need to fill out your health history information and select a pharmacy.  A care coordinator will connect you with a medical provider who will review your medical history and perform a video consultation with you within 30 minutes -- often less. After the Video Visit, you'll receive a visit summary and care instructions electronically, including any necessary prescriptions.

How Do I Know If My Plan Includes This Benefit?

  • For health plan benefit information, please call the phone number on the back of your member ID card.

Who Is Eligible To Use This Service?

The program is available to most Presbyterian Health Plan members and their dependents.

Can I Schedule A Visit For My Minor Child or Dependent Under 18 Years of Age?

Yes. In order to schedule your child's Video Visit, you must first set up their own, personal myPRES account using their unique member ID as listed on their Presbyterian member ID card. You will also need to be present during the visit if your child or dependent is under the age of 18.

How Much Does A Video Visit Cost?

There's no cost for Video Visits unless you have a high deductible health plan (HDHP). For HDHP members, the cost is $35 per visit until your deductible has been met. This payment is necessary to meet regulatory requirements of qualified high deductible health plans.

Can Health Savings Account (HSA) Or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Money Be Used For Presbyterian Video Visits?

Yes. Because a Presbyterian Video Visit is a qualified medical expense, you can use your FSA and HSA funds to pay for a Video Visit.

How It Works

Do I have to download an app to use Video Visits on my smartphone?

No, Video Visits are only available through your myPRES account. Simply log-in and look for the Video Visits link on the dashboard or homepage. If you have not yet registered for myPRES, it's easy. Simply go to www.phs.org and follow the steps to register. You will need to know your member number to register for your myPRES account before you can have a Video Visit.

Do I have to login or register if I want my child or dependent to have a Video Visit?

Yes, you will need to register or log-in using your child's or dependent's unique member number. You will also need to be present during the visit if your child or dependent is under the age of 18.

What if I registered for myPRES but I can't remember my user ID or password?

You can follow the steps to reset you password or have your user-ID emailed to you. If you still have issues logging in, please call (505) 923-5590 or toll free 1-866-861-7444.

What happens after I log in to see a provider?

You will need to fill out a medical history questionnaire before your first Video Visit consultation. You will only need to fill out the medical history form once unless you need to update your medical history. After you fill out the history questionnaire and request a Video Visit, you must speak to a representative to have a Video Visit. Our representative will call you to help connect you to a provider.

What languages are offered?

If you need assistance in another language, please call the Presbyterian Video Visits dedicated line toll free at 1-844-SEE-PRES or 1-844-733-7737.

Si desea ayuda para usar video visitas comuníquese con el centro de apoyo a los clientes al número gratuito 1-844-733-7737.

Using Video Visits

When would I use Video Visits instead of seeing my primary care provider (PCP)?

With Video Visits, you can still get the proper care you need without having to go to the doctor's office. Now you have a choice. You can use Video Visits for a simple way to see a provider for common health issues. Plus, it costs a lot less than a visit to the doctor's office, an urgent care facility, or the emergency room (ER).
Use Video Visits when:

  • You are thinking about going to the ER or urgent care center for a non-emergency medical issue.
  • Your primary care doctor is not available.
  • You need medical care during or after normal business hours, nights, weekends, and even holidays.

What are common health issues that I can be treated for with Video Visits?

Presbyterian Video Visit providers cannot prescribe narcotics or lifestyle medications. Please consult with your health plan provider for these types of medications.

  • Abrasions
  • Acne
  • Allergies, hives, skin infections
  • Bites and stings
  • Bronchitis
  • Bruises

Can I use Video Visits for behavioral health sessions?

Not at this time. But check back as this may change. Ask your primary care provider (PCP) about behavioral health consultations available through your health plan. You can also call the Presbyterian Customer Service Center at the number on your member ID card.

How long is each visit?

Standard medical visits take about 10 to 15 minutes. Most Video Visits are done within this time frame. The provider has the option to extend the visit at no cost to you.

Video Visits Providers

Are Video Visits the same as using the nurse advice line?

No. Video Visits are very different from the nurse advice line. With Video Visits, you will visit with a provider that can treat you.

Will the provider review my medical history before my visit begins?

Yes. Like a standard office visit, you will fill out a medical history questionnaire before your visit. We suggest you fill out the medical history as soon as you can. This will speed up the process when you need a Video Visit at a later time.
