HOW TO REGISTER

Step 2: Request Your Video Visit

You will need to enter your symptoms and confirm your contact information. If you have a copay, you will also need to enter your payment information. A care coordinator will call you after you request a visit and place you into the Waiting Room queue.

Step 3: Your Visit

Within minutes, you will connect with a medical provider. He or she will ask you to describe your medical issue, offer a diagnosis and medical advice, and, if a prescription is appropriate, send one to your pharmacy. Expect your visit to take about 10 minutes once connected.

Step 4: Get Your Visit Summary

Within 24 hours or less following your visit, your visit summary will be available to view/print. Return to your Presbyterian Video Visit profile account via myPRES anytime to review past medical information.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I see my own doctor with a Video Visit?

A Video Visit gives you access to a nationwide network of board-certified providers, allowing you to request a visit from anywhere in the United States.

If you wish to see your own local provider using a video appointment, you will need to schedule that directly with your provider. Standard co-pays will apply, as with in-person visits.

Will I have to pay for a Video Visit?

A Video Visit is $0 for most members, unless they are on a qualified high-deductible plan. You can contact Presbyterian Customer Service if you are unsure about the Video Visit cost for your plan.

What are common health issues that can be treated with Video Visits?

Note that Video Visit providers cannot prescribe narcotics or lifestyle medications. Please consult with your health plan provider for these types of medications.

  • Abrasions

  • Acne

  • Allergies, hives, skin infections

  • Bites and stings

  • Bronchitis

  • Bruises

  • Cold and flu

  • Constipation or diarrhea

  • Eye infections or irritations, conjunctivitis

Can I request a visit for my minor child?

Yes. A parent can request a video visit for a minor (under age 18) child as long as the parent and child are on the same Presbyterian plan. The parent must have (or create) a myPRES account, login and access Video Visits. Once inside the Video Visit interface, the parent will see a list of minor children and can select who the visit is for.

Can Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) money be used for a Video Visit?

Yes. Because a Presbyterian Video Visit is a qualified medical expense, you can use your FSA and HSA funds to pay for a Video Visit.

What type of equipment will I need for a Video Visit?

To use Video Visits and ensure the best experience, you will need to use a recommended web browser or mobile device:

  • Chrome, Safari or Firefox web browser with pop-ups enabled, if using a computer, or

  • a smartphone or tablet that is no more than 3 years old, and

  • iOS11 or later for Apple mobile devices.
