For patients who are scheduled for procedures at Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Rust Medical Center or Plains Regional Medical Center, see below for the procedure name you are scheduled for (such as Colonoscopy) and then choose the prep your provider has prescribed for you to use for more details. For other locations, please ask your provider or call the office for your prep instructions.

Colonoscopy

This study looks at your entire large intestine. It is done using a flexible tube with a light and small camera. Colonoscopies are used to look for any changes of the intestines, such as polyps, cancer or irritated issues that may be causing your symptoms.

For general information about what to expect if you are scheduled for a colonoscopy, we have a general guide that will give you more information about the procedure, how to prepare for it and use the prep correctly, and provide answers to commonly asked questions.
