Surgical Oncology
Surgical oncologists are doctors who treat cancer with surgery. They take care of many different types of cancer, including those in the stomach, liver, bile ducts, pancreas, colon and rectum, skin, and soft tissues. You might need surgery to remove a tumor, help diagnose cancer, or to relieve symptoms (called palliative surgery). Sometimes, surgery is also done to rebuild a body part after cancer treatment with skin flaps or breast reconstruction.
At Presbyterian Cancer Care, we offer both hospital (inpatient) and outpatient services for people with all types of cancer. Our surgeons are a key part of your care team and work closely with other specialists to create a treatment plan that based on your unique needs.

Every week, our team holds special meetings called tumor boards. During these meetings, a group of experts—including breast surgeons, cancer doctors, radiation doctors, pathologists, radiologists, and more—come together to talk about each patient’s case and make a plan that’s right for them.
We also have a caring support team to help you and your family. This includes nurse navigators, social workers, mental health specialists, nutritionists, palliative care providers, physical and occupational therapists, and financial advocates.
